House of Representatives fails to pass BBL

QUEZON City, Philippines, June 11 (Eagle News) — The House of Representatives failed to pass the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) as it ended its session for the second year of the 16th Congress late Wednesday, June 10.

Sessions resume after President Aquino’s final state of the nation address on July 27.

Only eight lawmakers of the 34 on the list have been called to interpellate since the debates on the BBL began last week.

House Speaker Sonny Belmonte said that debates on the BBL will resume at the opening of the July session of the House of Representatives.
