House panel working to include free college education in draft federal charter

(Eagle News) — The House Committee on Constitutional Amendments is working to include free college education in the draft federal charter.

Committee Vice Chair Vicente Veloso said that the 1987 Constitution only provides for free education for elementary and high school students.

So yung problemang ‘yan, nasa draft na namin. Inaayos na namin,” Veloso said.

He said they held public consultations, mostly with college students, for this.

“My point is, there are a lot of provisions in the Constitution na walang katuturan at kami na sa 17th Congress ang nag-ayos nito,” he added.
