(Eagle News)—The Cebu chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines has offered legal assistance in the prosecution of the perpetrators of the slay of a Grade 9 Cebu student.
The provincial chapter made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, March 13.
“We as a society must at all times be vigilant against all dangers to our children,” IBP Cebu said, as it called the slay of Christine Silawan a “pure act of evil.”
The police are looking for the three people who were last seen with the 16-year-old, whose body was found in a vacant lot in Lapu Lapu on Monday, March 11.
The police said her head had been skinned, exposing her skull.
The Department of Education has condemned the slay, and reminded schools anew to tighten their security to ensure the safety of students.
