(Eagle News) — If charges were to be filed against him in connection with the drug war, outgoing Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa said he would face them outright.
“Handa ako, as I have said, I may sink or swim with my President, hindi ko siya iiwan,” Dela Rosa said.
As of April 13, 19,086 drug offenders were arrested in 12,032 anti-illegal drugs operations since the PNP relaunched the campaign in early December 2017.
Over 200, or 207, were killed, while 8081 surrendered in 9,566 operations.
“The commitment of PNP in the anti-illegal drugs campaign does not end with the retirement of Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa,” Dela Rosa said.
Incoming PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde said he would prioritize the drug war and the cleansing of PNP ranks when he assumes office.
