(Eagle News) – In the Philippines, as the trend-setting “Kalye Serve” segment of a television network gripped Filipinos, the segment’s “Mambo number 5” ladder scene was one of its stand-out comedic twists.
In typical “Kalye-serye” fashion, various netizens are having a heyday on a series of photos going viral in social media where expelled Iglesia Ni Cristo member Lolita “Lottie” Hemedez is seen being filmed for a ladder scene, complete with multi-colored umbrella and all.
Also, in one of the pictures, Lottie was seen smiling as people around her prepared for the filming of the “ladder scene”.
Another picture showed her son, Jem Hemedez, trying the ladder first.
Sources said the photos were taken from a remote CCTV camera.
The reactions from INC netizens ranged from disdainful amusement to anger.
One netizen wrote: “Kala ko yung Lola Ni Dora yung nasa hagdan…Ndi rin si Tnidora… Yung palang si Lottie ni dora.”
Another said: “Ano yan?? Parang tinidora lang ahh. Bigyan ng music yan (A little bit of monica…)
Another had the picture titled: “Lolita’s how to stage a ladder scene and fool people.”
Still one netizen said: “Parang may shooting nakakatawa ayos ayos muna ng hair bago mag 1 2 3 camera action. Laro na sila snake ladder….”
Another netizen asked: “bakit po si lottie lang ang umaakyat sa bakod? si angel saka yung mga katulong sa gate naman dumadaan…..”
Another noted how Lottie’s actions have shamed the memory of her father and of her grandfather: “Kung buhay nga siguro ang sugo ay baka hinampas ka na ng baston.”
On December 16, Hemedez’s camp came out with a picture on social media where Lottie was seen climbing a ladder. Their camp explained then that this was needed so that she could come out of the compound at no. 36 Tandang Sora Avenue to attend a scheduled court hearing that day at the Quezon City regional trial court.
But the photos taken at that time, which are going viral now, showed how this had been filmed and apparently staged.
During the court inspection, the court sheriff also saw no barrier between Mrs. Hemedez’s house and the gate of the compound. They saw that there was no need for her to climb a ladder just to get out of the property.
In another development, on Friday, January 14, after the press conference of the Hemedez camp to select media persons from Rappler, Inquirer and ABS-CBN at the Microtel hotel in Quezon City, they proceeded to the barangay hall of New Era amid tight security from her many bodyguards.
Eagle News tried to interview her to get her reaction about the ejectment case as well as the photos on the “ladder scene”, but she did not answer any queries as her bevy of bodyguards shoved any “unwanted media” away.
At the barangay hall, this time she really had to climb up a flight of stairs.
But barangay officials did not allow her bodyguards and even her son upstairs. All members of the media were also not allowed.
As of press time, there was no information as to what was discussed during the closed-door session in the barangay hall. (Eagle News Service)
