(Eagle News)– Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos on Sunday (September 11) revealed her optimistic views amidst controversies on his late husband’s planned burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
“Truth and justice sometimes drags very slowly but as a believer, I know truth and justice will eventually prevail,” the widow said during the 99th birth anniversary celebration of the late strongman.
“Ferdinand Marcos will eventually prevail in all of these controversies,” she added.
On the other hand, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, expressed her hopes that the issue would eventually be solved.
“Hindi ako maaaring mag-komento sapagkat sub judice at alam mo na, ‘yung ating mga abogado eh ayaw. Ang amin na lang, ipinagdadasal namin na magkaroon ng katapusan upang sa wakas, magkaisa ang Pilipino tulad ng hangarin ng ating mahal na President, Apo Duterte,” she said.
The Supreme Court last week extended the status quo ante order (SQAO)– which blocked the preparations for the hero’s burial — to October 18.
The directive to bury the former president at the Libingan ng mga Bayani was issued by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, as desired and instructed by President Rodrigo Duterte.
