(Eagle News) — These photos show just how the Eva Hotel in Kidapawan City, Cotabato is reduced to near rubble as it partially collapses, with its facade appearing more like an accordion, because of the severe damage after the 6.5 magnitude quake that hit Cotabato on Thursday morning, Oct. 31.

This was just two days after the magnitude 6.6 quake that also hit Cotabato, followed by hundreds of aftershocks.

But authorities clarified that Thursday’s strong quake was not an aftershock of the Oct. 29 quake but a separate quake caused by a movement of a different faultline.

People have started to fear staying indoors in the affected areas in Mindanao because of the strong quakes and aftershocks that continue to rock the region.
