In photos: President Duterte honors Soviet soldiers killed in World War II at “Tomb of Unknown Soldiers”
(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte honored the fallen Soviet soldiers who fought during World War II when he visited the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow.
The President led the wreath laying ceremony at the memorial on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.
The day of celebration for the unknown soldier has been celebrated in Russia since December 3, 2014.
Millions of Soviet soldiers who fought the Nazis were reported missing or pronounced dead after World War II.
The soldiers died defending Moscow and prevented the German forces from entering the capital and the largest city of the then Soviet Union.
The “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” is located at the Kremlin Wall in the Alexander Garden in Moscow.
