(Eagle News) – Typhoon Rosita, with international name Yutu, pummeled Luzon, with the northern part, at the receiving end of most of its wrath as the typhoon made landfall in Isabela and exited La Union Tuesday, leaving a trail of destruction.
Entire roofs were ripped off. Trees were felled like matchsticks. Steel structures were bent and warped Signboards were blown over. And even gasoline stations were no match to the strong winds with gusts of more than 200 kilometers per hour that shook very foundations.

Photos showed the scenes of destruction in the typhoon’s path as it moved west after making landfall in Isabela. Even commercial establishments were heavily damaged after Rosita barreled through the region.
After the strong winds, were the strong rains that inundated Kalinga and Mountain province.

The force of Rosita also caused landslides in the North, and carved out portions of Kennon Road in Benguet.

As of 8 p.m., PAGASA said that typhoon Rosita has further weakened and is now downgraded into a severe tropical storm as it continues to move towards the West Philippine Sea. Its maximum sustained winds were down to 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. (Eagle News Service)
