ALABAMA, United States (Eagle News) – Fresh off the heels of acquiring the first Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) owned property in the state of Alabama, the INC members continued the series of firsts in this state with the first worship service in an INC-owned building and the first outreach program based from that location.
Prior to the worship service, INC members took to the streets of the surrounding neighborhood to invite their new neighbors to join in a “Neighborhood Appreciation Day.” Food and goodie bags were prepared for the community and invitations were extended for them to join in the historic event.
Suzanna Jackson was one of the neighbors who was curious about her new neighbors.
“I’ve noticed what loving, smiling, happy people [the INC members are] and I love that,” said Jackson who lives across the street from the INC property.
Jackson’s grandchildren noticed the balloons outside the INC property.
“I love people that work together out in the neighborhood showing good. That’s why I wanted my grandbabies to get involved,” she stated.
As the INC membership in the southern United States continues to grow, more outreach efforts are expected to occur in Alabama and the surrounding states.
