Collected business taxes in the first quarter of 2015 by the Quezon City government are hauling in up to 7.75 % or PHP 234 million.
Based on the report submitted to Mayor Herbert Bautista by the treasury, the QC government has collected PHP 3.26 billion or PHP 234 million tax increases, over than PHP 3.02 billion taxes collected in the same quarter of 2014.
City Administrator Aldrin Cuña said that “For the past five years, QC only managed to post increases that are below five percent. What we have achieved today is very significant for us to be able to finance the various requirements for governance and growth of the city.”
Collected taxes were from the 49,000 businesses owner who had paid their taxes over the month of January.
He also said that the three steps in the procedure that Mayor Bautista has taken out had help a lot within the process of payment may it be on registration or renewal for business tax.
Cuña also added that “This innovation forms part of a continuing effort to increase QC’s competitiveness ranking in terms of ease of doing business.”
Based on the same collection report submitted by the treasury, Quezon City has already managed to collect P4.1 3 billion in gross revenues, 2.2 percent more than what was collected by the city in the same period last year. (Mary Rose Faith Bonalos)
