Free medical and dental services were provided by the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo thru its project, “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” that held its first year anniversary this April.
The medical and dental service mission held at the SM Mall of Asia grounds Saturday (April 26) started at around 8 a.m. and ended before noon.
Eagle News reporter Jerold Tagbo interviewed Dr. Rowel Bertuben, head of the medical and dental team, who said that several machines from New Era hospital were brought to the SM MOA grounds for the event. These machines include x-ray and ultrasound equipment, and ECG (electrocardiogram) machines and mobile laboratories that can do CBC or complete blood count and blood glucose tests
Bertuben said about 150 doctors, 90 nurses and almost 60 dentists participated in the medical-dental mission of the Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko Saturday.
All of them are happy to give their free services to their less fortunate countrymen, and to be part of the first year anniversary of the INC project Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko (My Countrymen, My Brethren).
The said project combines the giving of relief goods and medical and dental services, with the conduct of an evangelical service mission so that God’s message of salvation could reach more people, organizers said.
