(Eagle News) — Tropical Storm “Inday” is forecast to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning but monsoon rains will persist in several parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Friday, July 20.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said monsoon rains will prevail over Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan and Metro Manila as “Inday” enhances the southwest monsoon.
The rest of Luzon, PAGASA said, will experience occasional light to moderate rains to at times heavy rains.
As of 3 a.m., the center of “Inday” was located east northeast of Basco, Batanes.
“Inday” is packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour, and gustiness of 105 kilometers per hour.
It is moving west northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.
A gale warning is still hoisted over Bataan area, with seas expected to range from rough to very rough.
