Bad weather led to the cancellation of both international and domestic flights as early as 6 a.m. Friday.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), re-Tweeting the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said that among the flights cancelled include:
International flights:
— 5J 258 (Siemp Reap, Bangkok-Manila)
— 5J 679 (Pudong, China-Manila)
— 5J 752 (Singapore-Manila)
All international flights cancelled belong to Cebu Pacific.
Domestic flights:
— 5M-816 (Manila-Basco)
— 5M-815 (Basco-Manila)
— 5J-513 (Manila-San Jose)
— 5J-514 (San Jose-Manila)
Domestic flights cancelled belong to Skyjet Airlines and Cebu Pacific.
Meanwhile, a number of flights were also diverted because of the same reason. These include flights:
— MU 211 (Pudong, China-Manila)
— TR 2728 (Singapore-Manila)
— 3K 763 (Singapore-Manila)
The flight from China was diverted to Cebu, while the two flights from Singapore were diverted to Clark airport.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), tropical storm “Mario” was estimated based on all available data at 212 km east of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph.
The provinces of Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan group of islands, Isabela, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Abra, Ilocos Norte and Apayao will experience stormy weather.(PNA)
