Reuters — Two holdover films are expected to top the North American weekend box office from Friday (September 29) through Sunday (October 01).

Thriller “IT” is expected to regain its position at the top of the list with an estimated 16.5 million dollar sales weekend; the film has already earned more than 500 million dollars globally, according to BoxOfficeMojo.

That will be a close call with “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.” It’s predicted to earn a very close 16.4 million dollars during its second weekend in theaters.

Coming in at number three should be newcomer “American Made,” which stars Tom Cruise as real life TWA pilot-turned covert CIA operative Barry Seal. It’s expected to earn roughly 14 million in its debut weekend.

Also new this week is “Flatliners,” which follows five medical students who investigate what happens after death. Starring Ellen Page, the movie is expected to take in about 7.6 million dollars.

The last holdover making the top five this weekend is expected to be “The LEGO Ninjago Movie.” It’s estimated to garner 13.8 million, added to its international haul of 35 million dollars.
