(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Janet Abuel as acting secretary of the Department of Budget and Management.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Abuel’s appointment was announced at the start of the Cabinet meeting on Monday, April 1.
Abuel was designated officer in charge of the DBM on March 5 after Benjamin Diokno was named governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
This was following the death of Nestor Espenilla after a battle with tongue cancer.
Abuel has a master’s degree in public administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore.
She also has a master of laws degree from the University of Sydney in Australia.
