Japan offers trainer aircraft for lease to the Philippines

TOKYO, Japan – The Japanese Self-Defense Force will offer five training aircraft for lease to the Philippines to aid in the patrolling of the disputed areas in the West Philippine Sea. The Philippines is the first nation in South East Asia to enter into a Defense Equipment Agreement with Japan. Japan will also provide patrol vessels to Vietnam in support of its aim to aid South East Asian countries against China.
