MANILA – Application call for the 14th batch of Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) 2016-2017 has started. Application deadline is November 6, 2015.
Basic Applicant Eligibilities of JDS program are:
・Citizens of the Republic of the Philippines under the age of 39 (as of 1st April, 2016)
・Must be a permanent employee of target organizations (listed in the Websites below) and not be a member of the military.
・Has two years of work experience relevant to the selected component.

JDS offers following fields of study at Master’s level in Japanese universities:
Economic Policy, Financial Policy, Development Policy, Investment Promotion, Promotion of SME, Public Policy, Public Administration, Urban Engineering, Road Administration, Environmental Administration, Aeronautical Engineering, Economics, Civil Engineering, Agriculture (The Language of instruction is in English.)
JDS program is offered in 12 countries throughout the world including the Republic of the Philippines. JDS in Philippines was established by the Government of the Philippines with the assistance of the Government of Japan in 2002. Participants of the JDS program will acquire expert knowledge, conduct research and build human networks at Japanese universities and are expected to use such knowledge to take an active role in practically solving problems concerning the social and economic development issues of the Philippines. Twenty (20) scholars per year will study in Japan at Master’s level basically for 2years (or 1 year) for commencement in 2016-2017. (Eagle News Service/Embassy of Japan)
