NAGOYA, Japan (Reuters) — Issei Hori took home the biggest prize in breakdancing when he came first in the Red Bull BC One final in Nagoya, Japan on Saturday (December 3).

Organisers say it is the biggest one-on-one breakdancing competition in the world, with a crowd of 3,500 spectators watching the dancing, which is known as B-Boying.

Issei Hori won against Hong 10 of South Korea, who is a two-time winner and is 12 years his senior, in a five-round battle.

The crowd in the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium crowd cheered on the local dancer who comes from Kyushu Island in southern Japan.

Afterwards Issei said replacing veteran dancer Taisuke, who is retiring, would put him under pressure. He said he would miss Taisuke, who was his mentor and came from the same island.

A total of 16 B-Boys from 12 countries took part in the Nagoya event, including three former champions.
