Japanese emperor visits the Philippines

President Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III personally greeted Japanese Emperor Akihito and his wife Empress Michiko at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), together with a delegation from the Japanese Imperial Family.

The Japanese Emperor will conduct a five-day state visit in the country and will be formally received by President Aquino in Malacañang this Wednesday, January 27.

The Imperial visit coincides with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Philippine-Japan diplomatic relations since World War II.
