Joker Arroyo, a key figure in EDSA People Power Revolution, dies, age 88

Former senator, Joker Paz Arroyo, a key figure in the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, has died at the age of 88, a friend and former colleague of Arroyo confirmed in a text message to reporters on Wednesday, October 7.

Arroyo served as a congressman of Makati City for nine years and also served the Senate for almost twelve years

Arroyo passed away at an undisclosed hospital in the United States while undergoing an open heart surgery.

Joker Arroyo was born in Naga, Camarines Sur and obtained his AAPL at the Ateneo de Manila University.

The former senator has received numerous awards and commendations for his significant contributions to the law profession and public service.
