JUST IN: 3.7-magnitude quake hits Batanes

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the July 27 earthquakes that killed at least eight people in the province, hit 20 kilometers southeast of Itbayat at 2:29 p.m.

Depth of focus of the quake was 10 kilometers.

An intensity V was reported in Itbayat, while an instrumental intensity I was felt in Basco.

No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
