(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted Paolo Duterte’s resignation as vice mayor of Davao.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the President did this on Friday afternoon.
A letter sent by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said the younger Duterte’s resignation was “effective immediately.”
Copies of the letter, dated January 5, were also given to the younger Duterte’s sister, Sara, also the Davao mayor, and to Catalino Cuy, officer in charge of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The younger Duterte resigned on December 25 citing “delicadeza.”
He also cited “personal reasons,” including his recent public spat with his daughter Isabelle, and the maligning of his name in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess in May.
