(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted Wanda Teo’s resignation as Tourism secretary.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the revelation on Tuesday, May 8, hours after Ferdinand Topacio, Teo’s lawyer, confirmed she tendered her resignation on Monday, May 7, prior to the start of the Cabinet meeting.
Teo’s resignation came after the Commission on Audit red-flagged a P60-million DOT placement of tourism advertisements in “Kilos Pronto,” a program of Teo’s brothers Erwin and Ben Tulfo.
Teo has denied any wrongdoing, saying the program was supported by documents reviewed by the DOT’s legal unit.
