President Duterte extends term of AFP Chief of Staff Guerrero

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has extended the  service of Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Rey Guerrero.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the President signed the extension of his service for six months following his assumption of the post on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

With the extension, Guerrero, who was supposed to retire on Dec. 17, is expected to bow out as AFP chief of staff on April 24, 2018.

The extension comes a day after the powerful Commission on Appointments approved Guerrero’s ad interim appointment at the helm of the Armed Forces.
