(Eagle News)– The Sandiganbayan has ordered the arrest of former Palawan governor Joel Reyes.
But a radio report said the issuance of the warrant by the Third Division was in connection with his conviction for the anomalous renewal of small-scale mining permits, and not in connection with the murder case filed against him for the death or environmentalist Gerry Ortega in 2011.
The anti-graft court made the move after approving the prosecution’s request for the former governor to be re-arrested and re-committed.
Earlier, Reyes was released from detention after the Court of Appeals declared the warrant of arrest issued against him in connection with the murder case invalid.
