First step in taking care of our eyes is through diet. Omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc and Vitamins C and E are optimal for warding-off eye conditions like macular degeneration and cataracts.
Food rich in said nutrients include salmon, tuna and other oily fish, dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale, eggs, nuts, beans, orange and other citrus fruits and drinks.
Another reason to avoid lighting up a cigarette is that substances found in them can actually harm our eyes. So, if you want to have healthy eyes, quit smoking or better yet, never start a smoking habit in the first place.
Wearing sunglasses is not just a fashion choice, it is also good for our eyes. Studies show that ultra-violet rays can harm our eyes, so it is good to wear sunglasses to protect them from the sun’s glare.
Finally, visit your ophthalmologist regularly to spot problems early on.
