Reuters — “Kong: Skull Island” is expected to climb its way to the top of the North American weekend box office from Friday (March 10) through Sunday (March 12), according to figures reported by Boxofficepro.com.
The film reboots the classic giant ape franchise and stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson. It’s predicted to take in roughly 43 million dollars in its debut weekend.
Rolling over from previous weeks, “Logan” should see another 40 million added to its global haul of 300 million dollars; horror film “Get Out” is set to add an additional 21 million to its earnings of 87 million; The Shack” should see another 33 million added to its sales of 21 million; and “The Lego Batman Movie” is expected to add an additional 8 million dollars to its worldwide earnings of nearly 260 million.
