(Eagle News)—Labor Undersecretary Jacinto Paras on Wednesday, July 18, denied he had a rift with Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III even if he was asked to leave a press conference on Tuesday.
“I don’t take things badly as that. Ako bilang subordinate niya I will just continue my work,” he said.
According to Paras, Bello may have though the undersecretary was behind the extortion complaints against him.
Earlier, a group that said it had the support of President Rodrigo Duterte accused Bello of receiving P1.5 million from a recruitment agency.
It also accused him of refusing to help an Overseas Filipino Worker whose baby had been left in Saudi Arabia after she was made to return home.
Bello has denied the allegations, saying the OFW never asked for his help but only followed up on a case filed against a recruitment agency.
“Baka he is in a bad mood. Hindi ko naman tini-take seriously ‘yung ganon,” he said.
