Las Vegas Strip dims lights, remembers victims

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Eagle News) – The city of Las Vegas shines in resilience as it recovers from the horrific event marred as the “deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.”

Sunday, October 8th, a week after the tragedy, from 10:05 pm to 10:16 pm, the colorful and radiant iconic marquees along Las Vegas Boulevard dimmed in remembrance of the victims and in honor of the brave first responders’ quick reaction during the horrific event.   For eleven minutes, the lights dimmed along the Las Vegas strip, reminding people of the lives lost and those that have been changed forever.

The entertainment capital of the world reminded visitors and residents, “When things get dark, Las Vegas shines.” Several marquees along the strip displayed this message to recognize the unity and goodwill the entire nation displayed after the shooting that shocked the world.
