(Eagle News) — The retired policeman who initially denied then-Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte had a hand in the alleged killings of the supposed Davao Death Squad then later said he did has left the country.
Media reports said Arthur Lascañas left for Singapore on Saturday.
Lascañas had denied before a Senate inquiry last year that Duterte was responsible for alleged extrajudicial killings in Davao when he was mayor there.
The testimony had been made by Edgar Matobato, an alleged hitman of the supposed squad in charge of killing criminals in the city.
Lascañas later recanted his statement, saying his conscience was bothering him.
