(Eagle News) — Senator Loren Legarda, chair of the Senate committee on finance, gave the assurance that the proposed P1.16 billion supplemental budget for Dengvaxia vaccinees would be passed before Congress adjourns this week.
She said this was after the proposal was transmitted by the House of Representatives to the Senate.
“Bago matapos ang session at mag-adjourn, magkakaroon tayo ng P1.16 billion para sa mga biktima ng Dengvaxia vaccine,” she told reporters, noting that the Bureau of Treasury already gave the assurance the funds were available.
According to Health Undersecretary Mario Villaverde, a big percent of the amount will be allotted for the medical assistance of children who were given the controversial vaccine.
He said there were also plans to get personnel who will monitor the condition of the children. Meanne Corvera
