(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Proclamation No. 555, which lists down the regular holidays and special non-working holidays in 2019.
Under the proclamation, declared regular holidays were:
- New Year’s Day – January 1
- Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9
- Maundy Thursday (for Catholics) – April 18
- Good Friday (for Catholics)- April 19
- Labor Day – May 1
- Independence Day – June 12
- National Heroes Day – August 26 (last Monday of August)
- Bonifacio Day – November 30
- Christmas Day (for Catholics) – December 25
- Rizal Day – December 30
Declared special non-working holidays were:
- Chinese New Year – February 5
- EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary – February 25
- Black Saturday (for Catholics) – April 20
- Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21
- All Saints Day (for Catholics) – November 1
- Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary (for Catholics) – December 8
- Last Day of the Year – December 31
December 24, or Christmas eve for Catholics, and November 2, which Catholics call All Souls Day, were also declared non-working holidays.
