LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS INFO SESSION IN MANILA

The world’s leading dedicated social science institution, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), will be in Manila this March to meet prospective students who are interested in pursuing a Master’s, a one year study abroad programme, or an Undergraduate degree in London.

Founded in 1895, LSE is a truly international institution with around 67% of LSE’s students, and more than 40% of its academic staff, originate from outside the UK. As a ‘laboratory of the social sciences’, the School’s academic profile spans a wide range of disciplines, from accounting, economics, law and management to anthropology, development, gender studies and social policy, topping the research excellence tables in many of these areas.

It has produced 35 world leaders and heads of state and 16 Nobel Prize winners. Some of its notable alumni are George Soros, the current leader of the British Labour Party, Ed Miliband, Sir David Attenborough, and David Rockefeller. Our very own Senator Sonny M. Angara and Lyceum of the Philippines Batangas President, Peter P. Laurel are also products of LSE. Currently, they have 16 Filipino students who are pursuing their degrees at the university.

LSE has a highly competitive admissions rate, admitting over 10,500 full time and part time students from all over world; 59 per cent of its student population is studying at graduate level. Aside from their full-time programmes, they offer a one year study experience for undergraduates. This allows students to study a subject they are currently taking at their home institution with more breadth and depth than would be possible in a semester-long equivalent.

Know more on how you can be a part of this prestigious institution by attending its information session conducted by LSE’s Student Recruitment Officer, Mr. James Brown, on 12 March 2015 (Thurs) at 07:00PM at the Legaspi Ballroom of Hotel Intercontinental Makati.
