(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte’s trip to India has resulted in at least $1.25 billion in investment commitment from Indian businessmen, an official said.

Speaking at the Philippines-India Business Forum at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi on Friday, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said that the Philippine delegation’s business engagements has also resulted in 12 business agreements, two memoranda of understanding and 10 letters of intent.

“(This has also resulted) in at least 10,000 jobs in infrastructure development, renewable energy, IT and business services including customer service and experience transformation with artificial intelligence, robotics, processed automation and software services,” Lopez said.

The President is expected to return to the country today, after attending the India-Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit, and India’s Republican Day.

This was the President’s first foreign trip for this year.
