QUEZON CITY, July 29 (PIA) — The Low Pressure Area (LPA) East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named “Carina”.
According to PAGASA, at 10 am today, the eye of the storm was estimated at 195 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and is forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph.
It has an estimated rainfall amount of moderate to heavy within the 300 km diameter .
Carina will bring moderate to heavy rains over Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and CARAGA region which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Fisherfolk are alerted against moderate to rough seas over the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
It is expected to be 280 km East of Virac, Catanduanes tomorrow morning and at 255 km East of Casiguran, Aurora on Sunday morning.
There’s no Tropical Cyclone Signal issued yet by thetr PAGASA in any part of the country at this moment.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today. (AVS-PND/PAGASA)
