But LPA has very slim chance of turning into a tropical depression
(Eagle News) — Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Pangasinan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to a low pressure area (LPA) which was spotted near Quezon province.
According to PAGASA, the country’s weather bureau, the LPA was spotted at 35 kilometers north northwest of Alabat, Quezon as of 3 am., Thursday, Dec. 10.
But the LPA has a small chance of developing into a tropical depression, PAGASA said.
“The LPA will bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro Provinces, and Northern Samar,” it said.
“Adjacent or nearby areas may also experience flooding in the absence of such rainfall occurence due to surface runoff or swelling of river channels.”
Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.
Localized thunderstorms can happen with possible flashfloods. Landslides can also occue during severe thunderstorms.
