MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Light Rail Transit-1 (LRT) on Tuesday announced the extension of its operating hours until August 31.

There will be additional train trips from the Baclaran station in Pasay City from Mondays to Fridays at 9:40 p.m., 9:50 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays at 9:10 p.m., 9:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, additional train trips from the Roosevelt station in Quezon City from Mondays to Fridays will be at 10:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays at 9:40 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

The extended operating hours is a continuation of the test run earlier implemented from July 10 to August 9 to determine if the move will gain interest from the public.

Once it gains interest from commuters, the LRMC said it will conduct a detailed study to make the LRT-1’s extended operating hours permanent.
