LRT-1 to be closed from March 29 to April 1 due to maintenance works

MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) announced that it will be closed from March 29 to April for maintenance work.

“The shutdown will pave the way for comprehensive maintenance works on the trains and system facilities, which serves around 400,000 to 500,000 commuters daily,” the Light Rail Manila Corporation said in an advisory.

The management said that the operation of the LRT 1 will return to its normal operation on Monday, April 2 at 4:30 AM.

Commuters are also advised to plan ahead and take alternative transportation during this period.

Meanwhile, the Light Rail Transit Authority said the LRT Line 2, which covers Santolan station in Pasig City until Recto station in Manila will also suspend its operations on the same dates.

On the other hand, the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3), which runs along EDSA from Pasay to Quezon City said that it will suspend its operations from March 28, Wednesday until April 2, Sunday.
