154 provincial buses allowed to ply the routes
(Eagle News)–The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has allowed over 100 provincial buses to ply routes going to Region 8 from Laguna and vice versa starting today.
The LTFRB said the 154 provincial buses can start plying the following routes, based on Memorandum Circular No. 2020-051-B released on Oct. 30:
1. Ormoc City, Leyte – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna
2. Palompon, Leyte – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna
3. Tacloban City, Leyte – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna
4. Maasin City, Southern Leyte – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna
5. Catarman, Northern Samar – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna
6. Laoang, Northern Samar – Sta. Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna
There are no fare increases unless ordered by the LTFRB.
The agency said only road-worthy vehicles and those with an existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) or Application for Extension of Validity may be allowed to take the trips.
The vehicles should also have a Personal Passenger Insurance Policy.
Vehicles should have a QR code, which they can request for on the official LTFRB Facebook page.
Applicants for a QR code should include the following information: name, mode (for example, PUB, etc), case, plate number or chassis number.
Passengers and drivers were reminded to strictly observe health and safety protocols to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
