(Eagle News)–The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has asked Hype Transport Systems Inc. to explain why it should not be sanctioned for supposedly imposing additional charges on its passengers.
In a show-cause order dated July 13, the LTFRB gave Hype five days to explain why it why it should not be suspended or why its franchise should not be canceled for its alleged charge of P2.00 per minute of travel time.
The LTFRB said the charges were “without authority from the Board (this is on top of its flagdown rate of P40.00 and charging P14.00 per kilometer).”
Hype representatives were also ordered to attend a hearing on Tuesday, July 24.
“Failure on the part of Hype Transport Systems Inc. to answer in writing this Show Cause order within the said period from receipt hereof and to appear at the hearing of this case shall be considered as waiver on its part to be heard and this case shall be decided on the basis of the records of this Board,” the LTFRB said.
Hype was accredited as a transportation network company in April.
