(Eagle News)–The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines announced on Friday, May 3, that red and yellow alerts would be in effect over Luzon grid within the day.
The NGCP said a yellow alert, which means reserves are below required levels, was in effect from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The NGCP said the same alert would be in place from 11 a.m. to noon, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A red alert, on the other hand, which means there is a generation deficiency, would be in place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m.
Available capacity was at 11,054MW so far, while peak demand is at 11,046MW.
“Details on the cause to be announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) later in the day,” the NGCP said.
