(Eagle News) – A magnitude 5.4 quake struck Zambales Thursday night, with the epicenter located in San Marcelino town, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The quake struck 10:27 p.m. Thursday, 17 kilometers northwest of San Marcelino in Zambales.
It was felt at intensity 4 in San Marcelino, San Felipe, Iba, Santa Cruz, Cabangan and Castillejos, Zambales; Dinalupihan & Abucay, Bataan; Quezon City; Pateros; Malolos, Bulacan; Obando Bulacan; Olongapo City.
It was felt at intensity 3 in Tagaytay City; Talisay Batangas; San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan; Pasay City; Makati City; Mandaluyong; Manila City; Paranaque City; Taguig City; Caloocan City; Pasig City; Valenzuela City; San Miguel, Tarlac; Marilao, Bulacan; Gapan City; Bongabon and Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.
The quake was likewise felt at intensity 2 in Palayan City; Bacoor, Cavite; Calumpit, Bulacan; San Jacinto, Pangasinan; Cabanatuan City; Lucban, Quezon.
Phivolcs said they are expecting aftershocks, as the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and the Office of the Civil Defense advised the public to be ready for these.
