Magnitude 6.9 earthquake hits Solomon Island

QUEZON City, Philippines, May 21 (Eagle News) — According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS), a magnitude 6.9 earthquake hit the Sta. Cruz Islands, part of Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Although the strong quake may cause localized tsunami, the Philippines is under no tsunami threat.
