(Eagle News)– Makati City police chief Senior Superintendent Dionisio Bartolome and intelligence head Chief Inspector Oscar Pagulayan were relieved from their posts following the arrest of their four men who were allegedly involved in abduction and extortion.
Relieved due to “command responsibility,” Bartolome and Pagulayan are being asked why they failed to discover the illegal acts of the four policemen.
The suspects, identified as PO2 Harley Garcera, PO2 Clarence Maynas, PO1 Tim Santos and PO1 Jeffrey Cañete were arrested in an entrapment operation Tuesday (May 9) night after one of their victims reported them for extortion.
According to reports, the victim and his girlfriend were in Pasay on Monday (May 8) when the four policemen abducted them.
They were only released after their families paid P100,000, but threatened again to kill the victim and his family if he failed to give another P100,000.
The suspects were nabbed after the victim sought the help of the Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF), which set the entrapment operation.
They are already detained at Camp Crame and will face administrative and criminal charges.
