QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The rehabilitation of Marawi City will start soon after the conflict with the Maute Group ends.
In an interview with Net 25’s, Sa Ganang Mamamayan, Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Assemblyman Zia Alonto Adiong said that as long as the Maute Group is not totally suppressed, rehabilitation in the area cannot start.
The official also said that the ARMM local government has not yet started estimating the damage caused by the conflict. Many of Marawi City’s infrastructures have also been destroyed and need immediate reconstruction.
“Habang nandyan pa po yung putukan, hindi natin mabibigyan ng tamang solusyon. We are hoping na sana na matapos na ang kaguluhang ito, na ang ating military ay ma over-run na nila at marecover nila itong mga area kung saan meron silang sightings na activity pa rin ng Maute group,” Adiong said.
