(Eagle News) — The local government of Zamboanga City has declared a measles outbreak after an increase in the number of people infected with the disease.
The measles outbreak was declared by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar in Executive Order BC 333-2018, dated February 9.
Prior to this, the Office of the City Health reported there were 101 suspected measles cases in the city from January 1 to February 1 of 2018, a 1,343-percent increase compared to the cases reported in the same period in 2017.
