(Eagle News) –Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea will serve as caretaker of the government during President Rodrigo Duterte’s trips abroad this month.
Duterte made the announcement in Special Order 310, which he signed on Tuesday, April 3.
“The Executive Secretary shall act as OIC to take care of day-to-day operations in the Office of the President and to oversee the general administration of the Executive Department,” the President said.
He said “all acts of the Executive Secretary for and on behalf of the President pursuant to this Order shall be deemed acts of the President unless disapproved or reprobated by the President.”
Duterte is slated to attend the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan, China on April 9 to 10.
From April 11 to 12, Duterte will be in Hong Kong reportedly to meet the Filipino community.
He will then attend the 32nd Leaders Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) from April 25 to 28 in Singapore.
