(Eagle News)—Some customers of Manila Electric Co. may have a temporary service disruption on Tuesday, April 23.
“Your service may have been affected by a rotational brownout due to power shortage that may last for an hour,” Meralco said in an advisory, after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines announced red and yellow alerts were hoisted over the Luzon grid.
The NGCP said the yellow alert, which means reserves are less than the power of the largest online plant, was in effect from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The red alert, on the other hand, which means a generation deficiency exists, is in effect from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
