(Eagle News)—The military is verifying information the supposed successor of Isnilon Hapilon, the emir of the Islamic State in Southeast Asia, has been killed.
The military said it had submitted samples from the body suspected to be of Abu Dar based on the scars to the Scene of the Crime Operatives.
The dead man was one of the eight killed in a clash with government security forces in Tubaran, Lanao del Sur on Thursday, March 14.
Of the eight, four were soldiers.
The rest were alleged terrorists.
